The Money Bomb
That’s what they called the special event at Radio City Music Hall in New York City last night…a fundraiser for the Biden re-election campaign featuring an on-stage conversation between late night host Stephen Colbert and the last three Democrat presidents—Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden.
If you feel left out…well, at least your pocketbook is intact. The cheapest tickets for access were $225 per person. But that’s just to be a face in the crowd.
If you wanted a photo with all three presidents, that alone would cost $100,000…making for some might expensive Christmas cards.
If you wanted greater access…like to actually have a word with one of the three, or be in the same room for more than a few seconds…those opportunities would have cost you $250,000 to $500,000.
And that’s why they’re calling this a money bomb…because just like that, some $25 million is expected to be raised to add to the advantage the Biden-Harris team already has going into the spring and summer of this election year.
You can bet the GOP will point to the celebrity-laden big money event in the bluest of blue cities and note how out of touch Democrats are with the citizens they claim to serve.
But as noted earlier this week, money talks…and $25 million in one night screams out.
