Save the Date
Two years ago, we invited you to join us for an 80th anniversary picnic in July…more than 100 of you did, and we heard from elected officials, candidates for office, authors, broadcasters and more.
Last year, more than 200 of you were there for our second annual summertime event, this time in August, called the “KXEL Caucus Cookout” since we featured presidential candidates on the stage.
This seems like something you enjoy…so we’re going it again this year.
Save the date for the third annual KXEL picnic…we’re still trying to come up with a clever name for it. It will be held a little earlier this year…on Saturday, June 29 from noon until 3 p.m., at the same place as always, the Pavilion at the National Cattle Congress fairgrounds in Waterloo. And as always, great food and great conversation…and as always, it’s free.
We’ve invited a number of elected officials to join us, and this year we’ll have a special guest. Some of you came up to me in the past asking if Todd Starnes would be on hand…so this year, we’re going to make that happen, too. Todd will be there to meet you, and give you a chance to pick up an autographed copy of his new book, “Twilight’s Last Gleaming.”
So as you can tell, lots of things are already in the works for the event…if only we could come up with a name for it. Well, that’s for us to worry about. As for you, make a note to hold Saturday, June 29 on your calendar for our annual KXEL picnic in Waterloo. More details coming very soon.
