There Goes The Testimony
Some folks on the political right got very excited this week with news that Hunter Biden would be testifying as part of a possible impeachment case members of the House are building against his father, the president.
So much for that…because of word yesterday that Hunter Biden now faces several charges of willful income tax evasion. Very serious criminal charges, all tied to his financial dealings.
So now that he has pending criminal charges, what’s the chance any testimony will go beyond invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination?
Pardon my cynicism, but it’s hardly a coincidence that after all these years, charges are filed just as he’s about to testify. In fact, something similar happened when his plea deal fell apart earlier this year and more charges were filed.
The swamp runs wide and deep…and there’s plenty that can stick to lots of folks.
But those who thought getting the president’s son under oath before Congress was a big move just got blocked as the year of an election begins. Again, hardly a coincidence.
