An Ohio man is facing charges in Linn County after police officers say a motorcycle group captured him as he arranged to meet someone he thought to be a young girl at a Cedar Rapids hotel. Walter Conkright is charged with enticing a minor younger than age 16. A criminal complaint says the national group “Bikers Against Predators” reported members were posing as a 13-year-old girl on the dating app, “Meet Me.” The group members confronted him first before police arrived and started questioning him. Conkright was arrested a short time later.

A man is in custody, accused of killing his girlfriend nearly one year ago in Waterloo. Court documents show police arrested Lamarcus Williams on Tuesday. He’s charged with second degree murder in the November stabbing death of Rebecca Taylor. Court documents say Taylor called 911, saying Williams was trying to stab her. She died days later in the hospital. His next court date is set for next month.

Nearly 100 Iowa libraries could face major budget cuts starting next year. This stems from a property tax reform agreement signed in May, combining levies across the state to cut property taxes. According to the state library of Iowa, 98 libraries will face budget cuts. That is just over 10 percent of the libraries in the state. Officials say this will impact operations in a major way. Some may have to close certain days of the week, lose staff, or cut back on services. Iowa Senators behind the property tax bill say they didn’t target libraries, and it is up to cities to allocate their funds.
