Watch Their Heads Explode Now

For reasons that make most of us scratch our heads…the U.S. House tossed out its Speaker on Tuesday and then adjourned for a week. They did not stay in town…much less in the room…to hammer this out and get back on track; instead, they came home and immediately started setting up district visits to show how involved they are with voters.

Supposedly, there will be a Republican caucus meeting in D.C. on Tuesday to hear from folks who want to be Speaker in hopes of being able to vote and select a new one on Wednesday.

But the Associated Press reports that there may be a visitor to that caucus meeting…a visitor who says he’d consider taking the job. It would be Donald Trump’s first visit to the U.S. Capitol since he left the presidency…and since the Speaker of the House does not have to be a member of the House…some suggest Trump is the man for the job.

It’s an idea originally floated by commentator and author Wayne Allyn Root, whom you’ve heard me talk to on KXEL. Trump now says he’ll pitch in and do what he can to help the party, including serving as a short-term interim Speaker if that’s what it takes to move the GOP agenda along.

Imagine how many Congressional Democrats—and frankly, how many Republicans—would lost their minds if Trump simply attended the meeting as an invited guest. Take that times a thousand if there was serious discussion about him succeeding Kevin McCarthy.

It’s likely just part of the plan Trump executes so well—getting his name into the conversation, and getting inside the heads of opponents. It’s probably less than a 50-50 chance that he’ll follow up his weekend trip to the Cedar Valley with a Tuesday visit to the Capitol.

But so long as that’s in the air…no one else can get full traction. And as always, that’s to #45’s advantage in his quest to become #47.
