State Your Name

The rules for government officials is clear…you use your government-issued email account for business and it becomes a public record—period.

You are not to use the official account for campaign purposes. You are not to use the official account for personal things…although we are well aware that most folks do.

And you are not to use the private account to transact government business, especially if the idea is to avoid it being a public record—because you’re doing things you don’t want the public to know about.

That takes us back to the Biden family, and renewed interest in a story originally reported by the New York Post in 2021 that Joe Biden used at least three private email accounts while he was vice president…each with different fake names or pseudonyms…so he could connect with the family business.

The House Oversight Committee is seeking material from the National Archives on the topic; the emails related to Ukraine and the natural gas company Burisma and were from a Biden aide to the then-vice president, copying Hunter Biden.

Here’s a pro tip…if you’re going to use fake names in accounts you shouldn’t be using…make it harder to figure out. For example, perhaps don’t use your initials in the email address.

One of the email addresses is “JRB Ware”…JRB stands for Joseph Robinette Biden, the president’s full name. Another one is “Robert Peters”…Robert is Hunter Biden’s actually first name, Hunter is his middle name. The third is “Robin Ware” which is sort of a combination of the other two.

The existence of such emails was made public in June, but some were withheld by the Archives and two others were redacted. The Committee wants all the information about these 2016 emails…because that may lead to discovering more information by tracking those fake names.

I’m sure there’s an innocent explanation for all this. But so far, they’re doing their best to keep it from us.
