WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) – The identity of a man killed in a single-vehicle crash on Friday was released by law enforcement officials. Randy Sneed, 53, of Tecumseh, Mich., was the person operating the motorcycle involved in the incident, according to the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies believe that Sneed was traveling southbound on Interstate 380, north of Raymond Road, when the motorcycle left the travel lanes and entered the median. The vehicle hit the cable divider, which kept it out of the northbound lanes. Sneed was taken to MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

PLEASANT HILL, Iowa (KCCI) – A man who law enforcement officials said was firing a gun in a Pleasant Hill neighborhood was killed after officers shot him on Saturday. At around 1:00 p.m., the Pleasant Hill Police Department was sent to a report of gunshots by a man in the 400 block of Pleasant Circle. Officers arrived and said that they found the suspect still actively firing his weapon. He was shot by officers, then taken to the MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Police said that the suspect had shot and killed two family dogs prior to officers’ arrival. Nobody else was hurt in the incident. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the investigation of the incident.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) -Starting last night, the I-80 eastbound to I-380 northbound ramp will be closed overnight for construction. The ramp will be closed every night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Sunday night through Friday morning. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 240. You can keep up with any changes to construction plans through the Iowa DOT’s 511 website.

LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – Just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, a silver 4 door pick-up truck was driving near the intersection of North Center Point Road and Fee Road where a group of children were playing. The truck was occupied by at least two males. A white male inside the truck fired a shot close to the playing children and then the truck drove away. No one was injured. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are investigating the incident. Anyone who may have information about the incident should call the FBI at 402-493-8688.
