Drugs in the Workplace

The Secret Service closed its investigation into how cocaine made its way into the super-secure and protected White House. Despite all the security before you can get into the place, despite all the cameras doing surveillance, despite the bag of drugs itself…they have no way of detecting how it got there or who put it there.

Short response is that either it’s a cover up, or else we have some serious security lapses. I’m not sure which is worse.

Well, probably the latter. Because if it is a cover up, that’s pretty bad and hopefully will be exposed.

But if it’s a security lapse in “the people’s house”…what if it had been anthrax? An explosive?

These things happen, and it’s just a bag of cocaine.

Oh, wait…now we know that marijuana has been found in the White House, too…happened last year…twice.

At least that was collected at a checkpoint…but no charges were filed because the District of Columbia decriminalized marijuana.

Is it any wonder we are in the sad shape we are in right now?

There are major shifts that undermine our security and way of life…we see those and make note of them. But we also cannot lose sight of the seemingly small erosions…because the cumulative nature of those are just as destructive.
