The Year Was 2002–on the music charts, Sheryl Crow sang “Soak Up The Sun,” Alan Jackson wrote and performed the 9/11 tribute “Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning” and the first “American Idol” winner, Kelly Clarkson, had a hit with “A Moment Like This”…new television programs included “The Bachelor” and “Dr. Phil”…new movies included “Spider Man,” “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” and “Sweet Home Alabama”…and in the news, journalist Daniel Pearl was killed by terrorists, and Minnesota U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone died in a plane crash.
