The Year Was 1962–Movies on the big screen included “To Kill A Mockingbird” and “The Miracle Worker”…in the news, Marilyn Monroe died, Richard Nixon lost a race for governor of California, and John Glenn became the first person to orbit the earth…television shows premiering included “The Tonight Show Starring (Iowa native) Johnny Carson” and “The French Chef” with Julia Child…while on the popular music chart, we enjoyed “I Can’t Stop Loving You” by Ray Charles, “The Stripper” by David Rose, “Palisades Park” by Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon, and “Johnny Angel” by Shelley Fabares.
