MARION, Iowa (KCRG) – More than a month after being reported missing, the body of a missing Marion man has been located. Ted Wolf, 83, was found by a person walking their dog in rural Linn County. Officials did not give a specific location of where the body was found. In a press release from Marion Police, investigators said his body and vehicle were located at a “significant distance from the roadway and obscured in some trees.” Police said there were no signs of foul play. Wolf was last seen driving on January 16th, at 12:30 p.m. No other information has been released.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Closing arguments finished Monday and the jury is now deciding if a man shot a Linn County Deputy. Stanley Donahue is accused of robbing a Casey’s store in Coggon and shooting Deputy Will Halverson seven times. Deputy Halverson was responding to the initial call on the night of June 20, 2021. Police said Donahue ran away after shooting Halverson, prompting a 12-hour manhunt across Eastern Iowa. The search ended when a TV-9 crew spotted Donahue walking along Highway 13 near Coggon the next day. The jury received the case at 1:30 p.m. Monday and will continue deliberations today.

DES MOINES, Iowa (WOI) – Grocery store chain Hy-Vee is suspending its 10 percent employee discount after company officials say multiple workers were abusing the discount. Company officials say they want to bring the program back eventually, but as of Monday, the program has been suspended. One claim of the discount being abused showed an employee buying large amounts of merchandise, which officials believe the employee planned to resell. Another person’s discount was used in five states in a single hour. Hy-Vee has said they plan to have a new discount program in place sometime this summer, but there is not a more exact timeline.

WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) – Police have arrested a man suspected of shooting and killing a Temple University Police Officer. It happened in Northern Philadelphia Saturday night. Officials have identified the victim as Officer Christopher Fitzgerald. He is the son of former Waterloo Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald, who served with the Waterloo Police Department from 2020 to 2022. Officials say Christopher Fitzgerald encountered the suspect during an ‘incident investigation’ near Temple’s campus. Investigators said 18-year-old Miles Pfeffer fatally shot Fitzgerald in the head. Officers say he allegedly tried to rob Fitzgerald of his gun and went through his pockets after the shooting. After a manhunt lasting over 12 hours, Pfeffer was taken into custody. He was arrested using Fitzgerald’s handcuffs.
