More State of the Union Lies

Yesterday we made our way through part of a “top ten” list of what Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center called the biggest lies coming from the President at last Tuesday’s State of the Union message …if you missed the first half, you can watch or listen to a podcast at kxel.com. Here are the last five things on Bozell’s list.

  1. Biden said he is cracking down on the border and border security…but we are seeing more illegal immigrants crossing the border now than ever under President Trump…new records being set virtually every month.
  2. Biden said he thinks bipartisanship is important, but the country is more divisive than ever since Biden enacted his policies for the vaccine mandates, energy and ESG, and radical trans ideology. And the shots he takes at “ultra MAGA” opponents is hardly offering an olive branch.
  3. Bozell said the President implied that the attack on Paul Pelosi was Trump’s fault…when in reality, his attacker was a crazy, drugged-out nudist living in San Francisco.
  4. Hate and extremism are coming from the right and Republicans…Bozell says in fact, Biden and the Democrats fueled radical Antifa to burn down cities, which he called a show of hate and extremism. At the very least, I’d say extremism is an issue with both major parties.
  5. Biden claimed the debt decreased by $1.7 trillion in two years. But the Media Research Center says that according to the U.S. Treasury, during Biden’s first two years in office — Jan. 20, 2021, through Jan. 20, 2023 — the federal debt increased by approximately $3.7 trillion. Again, there’s a difference between the national debt and the national deficit.

Obviously Bozell’s political leanings are no secret, and you may quibble with some of his fact checking…but even those on the left have to admit several of the claims made one week ago by the President don’t pass an accuracy test.
