Their Worst Nightmare

For national Democrats, their nightmare scenario is that Donald Trump runs for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Not for the reasons you may think, though.

Sure, Trump is arguably the most electable Republican out there who, as Dick Morris has pointed out on KXEL, is the only one who can say if elected he can fix the country’s messes because he already did it once.

Democrats are more afraid of Trump running because it increases the likelihood that Joe Biden will seek another term—and that’s something they very much don’t want.

Biden’s hatred of all things Trump is well-known and often-stated. Those who supposedly know suggest that Biden believes his handlers who said he was the only one who could stop Trump in 2020…and he thinks by extension, he’s the only one who can save the country from Trump again. Currently he sort of waffles now on the issue of running again, saying it depends on a variety of things—and chief among them is if Trump runs.

So it’s a double whammy for Democrats…the Republicans’ strongest candidate would be running *and* they’re stuck with Biden to take him on.

The word is that Biden could be convinced to hand the mantle off to someone else to take on a Ron DeSantis or Ted Cruz…but only he can again ward off the evil Trump.

Much of this depends on how the 2022 midterms turn out, of course…but we have to assume the 2024 race will be in full conflict mode immediately after…so timing is everything. And under this scenario, the Democrats could be playing from behind, even from their viewpoint.
