WATERLOO, Iowa (KXEL) – Waterloo Police are investigating an early morning shooting Sunday. Officers were called to the 700 block of Conger Street around 2:30 a.m. on reports of shots being fired. A man who was suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene was taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. His identity was not released. No arrests have been made.

WATERLOO, Iowa (KXEL) –  Police are investigating a one-vehicle accident that killed one person Saturday afternoon. Waterloo police say it happened in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Drive just after 12:30 p.m. First responders found a single car with the only person inside dead. The investigation continues.

COGGON, IA (Iowa’s News Now) — Authorities responded to a structure fire on Quality Ridge Road in Coggon Saturday afternoon. When responders arrived on the scene, they discovered that the property owners, Todd and Dawn Carrothers, had a burn permit for brush and were burning north of a vacant house on the acreage. The Carrothers told authorities that the wind had come up and the fire spread to the vacant house, at which time they contacted emergency personnel. The structure was fully in flames when emergency personnel arrived and is a total loss. No one was injured in the incident. The Coggon Fire Chief reported that there was nothing suspicious about the fire.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – One person was hurt on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids in a single-vehicle accident. At around 8:40 p.m. Saturday, the Cedar Rapids Police Department was sent to a report of a crash near the corner of Sixth Street SW and Thompson Way. Officers discovered a crashed motorcycle at the scene. One person was hurt, and officials described the injuries as serious. No other information was provided.
