I’m Not A Doctor…and I Don’t Play One on the Radio
And that’s why it’s not my place…or the place of anyone on radio or television…to tell you whether you should get the COVID shot or not.
That’s a medical decision best left to you and your doctor. I encourage you to consult your doctor on the topic, but I am not going to tell you what to do.
And for that matter, I’m not going to tell you what I have done on the topic…because it’s not relevant to your health situation. I am under no illusion that anyone listens to what I say on the radio, but in case some of that does seep through, I don’t want you to take my advice on getting a vaccination or not because I’m not an expert, and I’m not you.
Much has been made of a Tennessee radio talk show host who told people not to get the vaccine, right down to song parodies on the subject. Now he has COVID and is in critical condition…and is now urging people to get a shot.
I sincerely hope he recovers, but it’s not the place of any of us who talk into a microphone to tell you to get a shot or not. It’s our role to provide information and let you decide. That’s what we’ve tried to do. Yes, both the state and federal governments are paying to air commercials urging vaccination, but you can tell the difference between paid advertising, and my personal advocacy.
So…the disease is real, there are vaccines available…now you take the responsibility of making an informed decision, not swayed by any radio host, celebrity, or politician with an agenda.
