A Heartbeat Away
Lots of folks have made pointed comments about the mental state of the current president. I’ve suggested that those folks should keep quiet because the alternative of President Kamala Harris is worse.
She’s a heartbeat away from the presidency…and yet is so ill-informed about the country she desperately wants to lead.
Recall her failed presidential campaign, which died before Iowa’s caucuses last year. Mismanagement of message and finances, abuse of staff, lack of connection with voters…all documented by the Washington Post a couple months before the caucus…and all forgotten when she joined the national ticket.
Never mind that to discover what was going on at our southern border, she instead went to a federal office hundreds of miles from the trouble spot. Never mind that stories about her poor behavior as a boss, similar to those during the campaign, have now emanated from the vice president’s office. And never mind that when she’s asked a tough question, she laughs nervously.
It’s truly the lack of knowledge about who we are as Americans. The worst and latest example is the line about how we can’t have voter ID laws, because people in rural areas don’t have access to photocopier machines. That’s literally what she said, because you might have to make a copy of something in submitting your application for an ID…and rural folks don’t have that.
Certainly none at libraries, or the public office where you would go register to vote. I could go on, but you get the point.
It’s another example of condescension on the part of those in power these days. Now comes a story that her people are working behind the scenes to have President Biden removed from office due to incapacity so she can move up.
It would be funny if it weren’t so serious…and potentially tragic.
