Jabs and Shots

Dr. Anthony Fauci made the rounds of the Sunday TV talk shows this past weekend, eager to offer an opinion on…well, just about anything. No surprise there.

At one point, he was asked on CBS about why so many Americans were hesitant to get one of the COVID-19 vaccinations. The president’s chief medical adviser said it was “inexplicable” to him why anyone would be hesitant.

Let me make it “explicable” to him.

We don’t believe you. We don’t trust you.

You were the one who said early on masks would do us no good. You then admitted you only said that so there wouldn’t be a run on them at the store, like with toilet paper. You admitted you wanted to make sure health care providers had enough to keep themselves safe.

I’m fine with keeping them safe…it’s the lying to us part that’s a problem…especially when you later claimed not only wearing a mask was good, two or even three were even better. Apparently you bought some stock in a mask company along the way.

On Sunday, Dr. Fauci claimed virtually all deaths from COVID-19 are from non-vaccinated people.

Given that we’ve only had a vaccine for about six months…and the pandemic has lasted two-and-a-half times that long…that may be true. But how many of those had factors making them especially susceptible? It’s like most statistics from government…long on flash, short on substance.

So that’s the short of it. It’s not based on party, or being an anti-vaxer…it’s that rational people, considering a medical decision, don’t trust what you say.
