It’s Not The Same Thing
You probably saw some coverage of the vice president’s trip to Texas last week, ostensibly to get first-hand information about the border crisis.
But she went to a Border Patrol office…and not to the border where illegals are flowing in.
That’s sort of like checking out downtown Des Moines to learn about the impact of the drought on agriculture. Nice place, but hard to find parched corn fields there.
Of particular note, two attempts by the vice president to blur the issues. First, a two-pronged attempt at blaming others. She noted that the causes are in Central American countries, so they’re really to blame…unless you’d rather believe that Trump Administration policies are to blame, and she seemed find with that, too. Regardless, it’s not the current administration’s fault.
Second, she kept talking about immigration policy. That’s a scam, because there is a very big difference between immigration and illegal immigration. Those on the left want to blur the two, because it serves their purposes.
If you want to talk about immigration policy, then let’s have that conversation. But there is a current crisis of people illegally entering this country–committing crimes by doing so. And this administration is aiding and abetting that criminal behavior by flying those people around the country in the dead of night, including into Iowa, and denying the flights took place.
El Paso is not today’s Ellis Island, as a Democrat member of congress from the area claimed Friday. My ancestors came here legally through Ellis Island. What’s happening at our southern border is criminal activity. And this administration is making it worse.
