By The Numbers

Yesterday was the 100th day of the Biden Administration…and to mark that point, the Administration sent out a so-called “Fact Sheet” entitled, “100 Days In, Biden-Harris Administration Makes History with Presidential Appointees”.

What followed was a laundry list of what seemed to be quotas…or at the least, focus on characteristics of birth of appointees, rather than skill set.

They noted that of the 1,500 or so agency appointees hired so far:

58% are women

18% identify as black or African American (by the way, “identify” is their language)

15% identify as Latino or Hispanic

15% identify as Asian American or Pacific Islander

15% were the first in their families to go to college

32% are naturalized citizens or the children of immigrants

There’s more, but you get the point.

I’m a second generation American, the first in my family to go to college…but that’s not the lead point of my biography, and frankly, if my employers started telling everyone about me with that as opposed to my experience and developed talents, I’d be offended. It’s clearly not a color-blind administration…more like a check-the-box administration.

Wonder how many “identify” with just being “American”.
