The Dreaded C Word
You may have missed this with the other news of the week…but the White House had to scramble into damage control mode Monday after President Biden used the C word to describe the influx of individuals illegally entering our country at the southern border.
He said it was a crisis…and that’s a word that’s apparently a no-no.
The White House said the president’s use of the word crisis does not represent the administration’s official position. That’s according to CNN, of all sources.
So apparently what the president says is not the official position of that same president’s administration.
That certainly wasn’t the case when #45 was president. In fact, we knew the official position of the White House by specifically what he did say. Come to think of it, I can’t recall any other president who did not speak for his own administration.
The verbal gymnastics Monday included multiple administration officials saying the president did not mean the immigrant overflow was a crisis, rather he meant the situation in the countries they left was a crisis…and made it very clear there was no change in position.
Apparently those who are really running the government didn’t want the president changing their policy. And apparently don’t want the president answering questions any more, since that’s what got them into trouble to begin with, him answering questions after a golf outing in Delaware…so he’s been limited to stunts reciting canned language at a podium.
This is going to be a very long four years…or however long they let him stay in the job.
