Trust Us Now
You’ve no doubt heard this story already, how the White House press secretary showed how ignorant and biased people in the administration are when it comes to those who are politically conservative. When asked how they are addressing the very real concerns of many who don’t want to get the COVID shot, she talked about how the administration would continue to “educate” people, including reaching conservatives by putting ads on “Deadliest Catch”, NASCAR, and Country Music TV.
There hasn’t been “Country Music TV” by that name and format in decades, but from a president who thinks you should put the record player on at night to help the kids get to sleep…well, back to the point.
It should not be surprising that an administration that announces each appointment by noting what hyphenated-American the person is would resort to stereotypes. If the last administration had said it was going to reach people of color and talked about advertising outside restaurants serving chicken and ribs, the left would have howled. Just as wrong now.
But essentially, what do they expect, when they were the ones during the last campaign who laughed when #45 said there’d be a vaccine by that fall, or that 100 million people would have the shot by this spring. They mocked him. He was right, of course, but now they want to take the victory lap.
Remember when the vice-president said if #45 had anything to do with a vaccine, she wouldn’t trust it? Well, it’s the same vaccine…so were you lying for opportunistic gain then when you said it was bad, or now when you say it is good?
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to put on my NASCAR jacket and search the channel guide for “Country Music TV”. Can’t wait to see those education ads.
