Voices on the Radio
We like to take this time when appropriate to talk about things you hear on this radio station.
You may have missed a few voices lately, and noticed some new ones.
For about five years, you’ve heard daily home improvement tips from the legendary Bob Vila. Mr. Vila decided to scale back his work schedule, and discontinued those features at the end of last year.
Similarly, Hall of Fame football coach Tony Dungy has written several books in the “Uncommon” series, and that led to a daily segment called “Uncommon Moments”. He also decided to discontinue the segment, and the last edition aired last month.
Again, we enjoyed bringing those segments to you, and they are only off KXEL because they are no longer being produced.
We have welcomed the financial journalist Lou Dobbs to KXEL, with three new reports each weekday…at 6:20 a.m., 12:20 p.m., and 5:20 p.m. These segments are now Mr. Dobbs’ only broadcast outlet at the moment, and we’re glad to bring his insight to you.
We have also just added the well-known columnist Cal Thomas to KXEL, with a fresh daily commentary around 5:30 each afternoon, with a repeat around 9:30 each evening. And we’ve gotten some nice feedback to Jerry Stewart’s daily “One Moment in America” stories, weekdays at 5:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.
More tweaks to come, and we’ll keep you posted. As always, we went to hear your thoughts about programming…send me an email directly at jeff@kxel.com.
