Here’s the Path
Jerry McGlothlin of “20 Days to Save the USA” says Donald Trump won the presidential election and has set forth what he says is a path to victory .
It’s based on the closeness of the vote in some key states, and the history of how many votes change when a normal recount is conducted.
He notes there are four states where the current vote differential is only one half of one percent…Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Two others, Michigan and Nevada, have about a point and a half differential.
If you take those six states, do a recount, and Trump wins them all…he has 311 electoral votes, more than enough for victory and more than four years ago.
But if you only take the states where the margin is less than one percent…Trump still wins, with 289 electoral votes.
And that’s without allowing for any widespread ballot dump.
Further…forget Pennsylvania, and just flip Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin…then you have the elusive tie, with each candidate earning 269 electoral votes, one short of a win.
The flaw is that Wisconsin does not have a provision for automatic recount for candidates, so that would require a court challenge. And it presumes that a recount would come up with enough change…but as noted, the margins of victory currently are so small, it would not take as many votes as one would think to change the outcome.
Not sure I’d go to the betting window on those odds…but there is a path. And a month before the electoral college meets.
