Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden returned to Iowa Friday for the first time since his fourth place finish in the Iowa Caucuses last February…and he told a drive-in rally in Des Moines that if he is elected tomorrow, he’ll raise taxes on multiple U.S. corporations. For his part, President Trump was back in the state yesterday, telling an airport rally in Dubuque that Biden will raise taxes for most American families. The President says tax increases for any segment will hurt the economy, and says he’ll keep the lower taxes enacted in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
A new Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll released this weekend shows the President in the lead in Iowa, and beyond the margin of error. That same poll showed U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst in front in her bid for re-election, again beyond the margin of error.
Biden continues to reject claims that his son’s business activities were wrong, or that he was involved in a pay-for-access scheme. We’ll talk with the only journalist who has asked Hunter Biden associate Tony Bobulinski about what he told the FBI this month, as well as with former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, during KXEL Live & Local today between 9 and 11 a.m.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he expects any new coronavirus stimulus bill won’t be passed until early next year. U.S. Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa told Fox News Channel’s Neil Cavuto Saturday that he believes it should get done as soon as possible. House Democrats passed a $2.2 trillion bill, while Senate Republicans were suggesting a $500 billion measure.
While campaigning in Des Moines Friday, Democrat Joe Biden says if he becomes president, he’ll impose a national mask mandate. But yesterday in Dubuque, President Trump rejected Biden’s criticisms of how his administration has handled the COVID pandemic. The polls will be open in Iowa from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m., and we’ll have live election results tomorrow night on KXEL from Iowa’s Election Headquarters.
