Appleton easing into Chromebooks at high schools

Appleton high school students will have to wait a little while to get their Chromebooks.

Voters approved a referendum, in February, to provide a computer for every student.

District instructional technology director Dale Hanson says they'll take a couple of weeks to teach the students how to properly use the computers, and go over the district's rules for them.

He says school officials have high hopes, for how students use the Chromebooks. He says they should let students work on their homework on their own schedule, and they could help them continue their learning at home.

Elementary and middle school students will also be able to use Chromebooks, but they're being shared between classrooms.
