Brewers blunders help Bucs beat Crew

A couple of errors led to five unearned runs for the Pittsburgh Pirates in an 8 to 3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park Friday night.

The Brewers took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning when Jonathon Lucroy reached on a one-out walk, and Ryan Braun blasted his 16th home run of the season.  But that lead was quickly erased in the top of the second inning when the Pirates answered with three runs, all unearned, off of starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo, and Pittsbugh never looked back.  They were led by Josh Harrison, who ended up 3 for 5, and 5 RBI, including his tenth home run of the season.

Game two of the three game weekend series is Saturday night. The Brewers will have Wily Peralta on the hill, while the Pirates will counter with Edinson Volquez.  First pitch is slated for 6:10 P.M.  The game can be heard on 1150 WHBY
