Leibham won't seek recount, concedes

The Republican primary for the 6th Congressional district seat is officially over.

State Sen. Joe Leibham of Sheboygan announced this afternoon that he won't seek a recount, in the race against Sen. Glenn Grothman of Campbellsport. Grothman won the race by 219 votes, according to the official canvass that was completed earlier this week.

The various counties would have had to pick up the cost of a recount, because the margin was within a half-percent.

Grothman will now face Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris, the Democratic candidate, in the November election.
