Police: Coralville man drove over pedestrian, left

Police say a Coralville man ran over another man in a parking lot and left the scene.

Coralville Police say they've charged 20-year-old Misael Martinez-Mendiola with leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a revoked license.

Witnesses told police that Martinez-Mendiola backed his vehicle over the victim, breaking his leg.  They say he drove away from the scene at a high speed.  It's unclear if the victim was hospitalized.

Police arrested Martinez-Mendiola Wednesday.  He's being held at the Johnson County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
