Iowa City man charged with 3 bank robberies

A 30-year-old Iowa City man is accused of three bank robberies over the past three weeks.

Antoinne Davis was arrested Monday by officers who say he matched the description of a man who robbed a Hills Bank and Trust branch just hours earlier.  Davis also is charged with robbing a Hills Bank and Trust branch in Hills on Aug. 1 and the University of Iowa Community Credit Union office on Iowa City's Muscatine Avenue on July 17.  Hills sits six miles south of Iowa City.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Jamarcus Knox was charged in the Hills robbery as well.  He is accused of driving the getaway vehicle.

Jail records say Davis and Knox remained in custody in Wednesday.
