Appleton skate park may be back on track

Appleton's first skate park could be taking shape in the coming weeks.

After the first bids came back, over budget, the parks department hopes to sign a contract with Miron Construction for about $250,000. The finance committee approved the company's bid, yesterday afternoon.

Parks director Dean Gazza says they decided to seek bids on the electrical work, separately, the second time around.

The park would be in Telulah Park. The city council will take up the proposed contract next week.

Gazza says they hope to finish the skate park, in time for kids to use it, before the end of the year.
