CDC details alcohol-related deaths in state

A report from the CDC shows that alcohol use is a factor in 10 percent of the deaths of people between 20 and 64 years old, in Wisconsin.

Tom Ritchie is a clinical supervisor at Libertas treatment center. He says the state's attitude toward drinking likely plays a role in the high death rate.

The CDC included deaths from liver cancer, heart disease, and other conditions that can be caused by long-term excessive drinking. It also considered drunk driving, alcohol poisoning, and other short-term drinking-related deaths.
