Man who died in motorcycle-truck crash identified

Cedar Rapids police have released the name of the man who died in an accident involving a motorcycle and truck on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the intersection of Center Point Road and 32nd Street NE shortly after 5:00 p.m.

The motorcycle driver was 29-year-old David Hannen of Central City.  Hannen was transported from the scene to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck was 57-year-old Jeff Huber of Marion.

According to accident investigators, Huber was driving south on Center Point Road and made a left turn onto 32nd Street.  Hannen was heading northbound on Center Point Road.  Huber turned in front of Hannen and Hannen made contact with Huber in the middle of the intersection. 

No charges have been filed at this time.

The accident remains under investigation.  Anyone who witnessed the accident or has additional information is asked to contact the Cedar Rapids Police Department at (319) 286-5377.
