Second arrest made in weapons investigation

Officers with the Waterloo Police Department's Violent Crimes Apprehension Team has made a second arrest in a weapons investigation on Logan Avenue.

Late Tuesday night, officers arrested 20-year-old Juwon Culpepper.  He is suspected of firing shots into the air on Monday.

After that arrest, police say they saw people who were with Culpepper go into the Logan Avenue Convenience Store.  One of the men who went in was 26-year-old Donquavious Davis.  Officers searched the store and found a gun was hidden in a bathroom that was closed for repair work.  After looking at surveillance video, they found that Davis was the one who hid the gun.

On Wednesday night, officers arrested Davis for felon in possession of a firearm and carrying weapons.  He is also being held on a parole violation stemming from previous felony firearm and drug convictions.  Davis is being held in the Black Hawk County Jail without bond.
