Authorities clear investigation at Cedar Rapids home

Authorities say there's no threat around a two-story home in Cedar Rapids following reports of suspicious activity.

Cedar Rapids police say officers on Friday secured the area near 503 7th Avenue SW and there is no risk to the public.

Authorities established a perimeter around the home after a fire extinguisher was apparently thrown from a window.  Fire officials later verified there were no hazardous gases in or around the home.

Police say a man who refused to leave the scene was taken into custody.  Another man was taken into custody on a probation violation.  Additional information about them was not released.
