Authorities lift lockdown at Alburnett High School

A lockdown at an eastern Iowa high school has been lifted after authorities cleared a weapon threat.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says the lockdown at Alburnett High School in Alburnett began Wednesday afternoon after authorities said they received a report about a person with a long gun at or near the school.  It was lifted less than an hour later.

Authorities said they found a BB gun on school property.  They initially reported finding a long gun.

A student was questioned about the weapon, but no charges are likely.

Authorities say there were no reports of shots fired or threats.  No one was injured.
