One hospitalized after Waterloo crash

Waterloo police continue to investigate a two-vehicle accident that sent one driver was sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Waterloo Police and Fire Rescue were sent to the intersection of University and Ansborough avenues at 12:48 p.m.

Police Captain Tim Pillack says a 2013 Honda was eastbound on University Avenue when the driver ran a red light and struck a 2004 Pontiac.  The driver of the Honda was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital for his injuries.  The other driver was not injured.

Pillack says the accident is still under investigation and the names of the drivers will be released at a later time.
