Appleton finally hits 70 degrees

Yesterday marked the first day in nearly seven months, that the temperature reached 70 degrees in Appleton.

Meteorologist Scott Berschback is with the National Weather Service's Green Bay office.

He says the last time it took until May 8th to reach that mark, was in 1975. He says temperatures will drop back into the 60s this weekend, and the 50s by the middle of next week. Berschback says it could take a while to return to the 70s.

The longest it's ever taken to hit 70 degrees in Appleton, is May 21st. That happened in 1973.
