Appleton reopens Memorial Park gardens

The Memorial Park gardens are open again, in Appleton.

The city took them over, after the Gardens of the Fox Cities left the facility in January. Parks director Dean Gazza says crews are busy trying to get flowers and plants in the ground.

He says the city will also rent out the Scheig Center, but not for larger events, like the Gardens of the Fox Cities offered. The city will also not offer catering services there.

People can start making reservations on May 19. The facility won't be available for rent, until June 16.
