Car sales up slightly in 1st quarter

There wasn't a whole lot of activity at showrooms in Wisconsin during the first quarter of the year.

But Scott Quimby of Reg Trak, Inc. says overall sales of new vehicles weren't "too bad."

Total sales of new vehicles in the state were up 1.4 percent from January through March, compared to the first quarter last year.

Car sales slipped three percent, but trucks were up four percent. Cross-overs and SUVs are included in the "trucks" category.
