Cedar Rapids grandpa wins $200,000 in Pick 4 game

A Cedar Rapids man has won $200,000 playing the numbers of his birth year in the Iowa Lottery's Pick 4 game.

Lottery officials say 70-year-old Wiley Tuley, a retired grandfather, developed a strategy to play the numbers 1-9-4-3.  He bought seven tickets at a grocery store and seven more at a gas station, all with the same set of numbers.  Each of his tickets contained three plays for Thursday evening's Pick 4 drawing.

All four of his numbers were drawn.  He won 32 prizes of $6,000, two prizes of $3,000 and eight prizes of $250.

Pick 4 plays range from 50 cents to $5 for the chance to match a four-digit combination.  Players choose to try to pick the four numbers in exact order, in any order, and other ways.
