Group holding furniture drive for refugees

The Appleton Fox Cities Kiwanis Club is holding the first of three donation drives tomorrow, to help about 75 refugees.

Jean Long is helping to organize the drive. She says the people are coming to the Fox Cities from Iraq, Myanmar, and the Congo, and they have nothing.

They're looking for kitchen tables, bed frames, linens, and living room items. Appleton alderman Curt Konetzke says he's confident people will step up.

People can drop off donations at the former bank building in the 300 block of East College Avenue tomorrow, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Additional donation drives are coming up on March 1 and 4.
