Gas leak in G.C. lasts for hours

Workers for We Energies were busy in Grand Chute for much of the day yesterday, because of an underground gas leak.

Spokesman Brian Manthey says they had a tough time finding the exact spot of the leak, even though they knew it was in the area around College Avenue and Kools Street. He says they had to dig to find it, and the frozen ground slowed them down.

Manthey says the underground leak is another example of the importance of the scent of natural gas. He says without it, they might not have known there was a leak.
