ThedaCare renovates behavioral health unit

Patients and staff are getting used to the renovations at ThedaCare's Behavioral Health inpatient unit.

Business manager Collette Hartfiel says they still have 19 beds, but they tripled the number of private rooms, to nine. She says they now have a more "open concept" at the facility, so nurses and staff can better see what's going on.

Hartfiel says they also have five group areas, where patients can read, watch TV, or relax. They used to only have one.

The $4.3 million project took 14 months to complete. The facility is part of Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.
